Lithuania ended its lockdown on June 16, and now more and more countries are being added to the ‘welcome’ list after the Baltic Bubble agreement between Lithuania, Estonia, and Latvia. This agreement had started back in May. 🧳🌞
Before switching to July’s stats, let’s make a recap of May’s and June’s and see how the Lithuanian job market was doing at that time.
✅The average offered salaries were higher than the expected salaries in Lithuania.
✅ It turned out that Lithuania-based companies were up for remote offers especially in the month of May and June. The star industry for these was Software Engineering. 🤩
Let’s see what July has brought so far. Ready? 🚀
Job Market Overview: June vs July
The Lithuanian job market saw a small increase in the number of active job seekers by the first week of July, just like in Finland and Estonia.
Normally, there’d be less job applications in summer. But, as we all know, this is no ordinary summer. As the uncertainty still continues, job seekers seem to be looking for new opportunities.
Let’s delve into market competitiveness.
And now, we have some good news here!
Unlike Finland and Estonia, it has become easier to find a job in Lithuania lately. The slight increase has put the ease of finding a job at the sweet spot of “OK level”.
For software engineers and IT & Sysadmin experts, the situation is even better. 👍
Want to know more? No worries, we’ll share a more detailed analysis of the ease of finding a job in the top 6 industries later in this report. Almost there! 👀
Salaries in Top 6 Specialties
If money could talk, what would it say about the average gross salaries in the Lithuanian job market lately?
👉 Unlike in Finland and Estonia, the average gross salaries increased in all industries in Lithuania. When it comes to recovery, Lithuania is apparently doing well. 👏
👉 Software Engineering saw a slight decrease in the average gross salaries in June.
👉 Even though the salaries in Lithuania have been a bit lower than in Estonia and Finland, the increase rates are still higher compared to those in these two countries.
So, what are job seekers expecting from companies? And more importantly, have the expectations and offerings matched so far? 🥁
👉 The average expected salaries were significantly lower in Lithuania in most industries compared to those in Estonia and Finland.
👉 Sales and Business Development and (Tech) Project Management saw a decrease in the expected salaries.
👉 Apparently, marketing & PR & media professionals are the ones who have made the biggest revisions to their expectations with an increase of 265EUR in June.
Despite the increase in the average expected salaries, the offered salaries are still lower in all industries except for Sales and Business Development and Marketing & PR & Media for now.
Competition in Top 6 Specialties
Now, let’s have a look at the market competitiveness in the top 6 specialties in June in comparison with May. 🔎
It’s become more challenging to find a job in all industries in Lithuania except for IT & Sysadmin, which was already at the comfortable “almost very easy level”.
Sales & Business Development saw very little change while the Finance industry faced a sharp downturn. 📉
Despite the positive vibe in the air for Finance professionals looking for a job in Lithuania in the past, now it’s become drastically challenging. 😵
Software engineers may also find it a bit harder to find their dream roles nowadays. But who knows, maybe the end of July will bring much better news for all industries. 🙏
TOP 10 Companies with the Most Applications in June 2020
Which companies attracted the most applications in June and which industries are they operating in?
Let’s start with the top 3. In first place, we see Vertex, an innovative IT company specialising in IT projects like omnichannel support & marketing tools, e-commerce products, and more. 👏
It seems the top 3 choices for job seekers are revolving around the IT and Finance industries. 💰 🤓
What about the rest of the list? Looking at the fourth and fifth places, we see Amston, a consultancy and recruitment company, and UAB Icona that operates under BeDigital and is expanding businesses to new markets.
Recruitment, Digital Marketing, and SaaS make up the leading industries in the list. 💪
Welcome to the MeetFrank family!

Wondering if they’re hiring? Well, here are the most recent openings from these companies:
Finland’s opening up and navigating its way in the new normal. So, what’s the current situation in the job market in Finland?
In our latest report, we mentioned that Finland saw a drop in the number of job applications. In addition to this, finding a job became more challenging.
Let’s keep our hopes high this month, and see what the Finnish job market is up to nowadays! 🕵
Job Market Overview: June vs July
By the first week of July, there has been a slight increase of 1% in the number of active job seekers in Finland.
Coronavirus times combined with summer mode might stop this number from increasing. 🌞 We’ll see how the situation changes by the end of the month.
What about market competitiveness?
According to our market competitiveness indicator, the ease of finding a job in Finland has remained quite stable over the last few months. We shared these stats in our recovery report.
Market competitiveness has increased very slightly since mid-June. This means that job seekers will find it a bit challenging to find a job in Finland.
The good news is that it’s leaning towards the “OK-level”. 🙏
We’ll talk about the competition among the top 6 industries in the coming sections. Stay tuned for even more data! 🤓
Salaries in Top 6 Specialties
Last month, all the industries saw an increase in the offered salaries except for Finance in Finland. Let’s see how things go in July.
When looking at the average gross salaries in the Finnish job market, we can see that they have increased in all industries except for Tech (Project Management).
✅ Sales & Business Development saw the highest increase with an average of 565EUR since May. If your profession fits this sector, the chances are employers will be very interested in you nowadays. 💪
✅The lowest increase was in Software Engineering. Even though software engineers are normally some of the most sought-after experts with relatively higher salary rates, it seems the employers aren’t in an urgent need of finding software talent nowadays. 🤐
Wondering about the average expected salaries in June?
✅ Surprisingly, the average expected salaries have decreased in all industries except for Software Engineering. At the end of the day, companies are willing to pay higher than job seekers are expecting.
✅ The highest drop was in Finance with an average of 401EUR.
So, what do these numbers mean? Why have most industries seen a fall in the expected salaries when it’s been the other way around for the offered salaries? 🤔
👉 While job seekers are trying to increase their chances of finding a job by lowering their salary expectations, companies are actually fine with paying more to find the best talent.
Competition in Top 6 Specialties
Now, it’s time to compare market competition in the top 6 specialties in June with that of May.
The only two industries in which it’s now easier to find a job are (Tech) Project Management and IT & Sysadmin in Finland. 👍
While Software Engineering has recently seen a sharp fall, the Marketing & PR & Media sector, in which it was already difficult to find a job, has become even more challenging for job seekers.
Finance also faced a drop in the number of opportunities, but falling from the “very easy-level” to “easy-level” doesn’t really sound too bad, does it? 😊

✅ There was a slight increase in the number of job applications.
✅ In general, there wasn’t a significant change in market competitiveness. However, the ease of finding a job varied per industry.
We’ll see what July will bring and how things’ll be for companies and job seekers. We hope for more opportunities and signs of getting back to a better normal. 😊
Now, get ready to delve into the most current stats! 🚀
Job Market Overview: July vs June
In our latest report, we had shared that there wasn’t a significant change when it came to market competitiveness and the number of job applications.
So, what’s the news as of today?
The first week of July saw a very slight increase in the number of active job seekers. As of today, there was no difference at all! There might be several reasons for that.
The fallout of the coronavirus is affecting both job seekers and companies. It’s also common to have less openings and less applications during the summer. 🌞
At the end of the first week of July, we can see a slight change in market competitiveness. It’s still challenging to find a job in Estonia. 📈
Is it the same for Marketing, Engineering or Sales people? Well, not really.
While IT & Sysadmin specialists have more opportunities in the Estonian job market nowadays, it’s sadly difficult for people in the Design industry.
We’ll share a more detailed analysis on this topic in our report. Coming soon! 😉
Salaries in Top 6 Specialties
Finding a job may still be a bit challenging in Estonia, but it seems employers are currently willing to pay more, compared to May. 💰
By the first week of July, it seems the upward trend in the average gross salaries is set to continue. 📈
Let’s recap the 3 main points from the stats:
✅ The average gross salaries in Software Engineering, Sales & Business Development, IT & Sysadmin, Marketing & PR & Media industries have increased.
✅ The only industry that couldn’t manage to increase salaries has been Finance. 🤔
✅ IT & Sysadmin saw the highest increase with 381EUR. 🤑
What about the expected salaries? Let’s see if the expectations of job seekers and companies align with each other. 👀
✅In parallel to the average offered salaries, the expected salaries have also increased. 💰
✅ The highest increase has been in the Sales & Business Development industry.
✅It seems Finance people have been more cautious, as there has been a tiny increase in their expectations of only 2.7%.
Overall, the average offered and expected salaries have both increased. It’s a good sign that nowadays job seekers and companies are more or less on the same page. 🤝
Competition in Top 6 Specialties
In this section, we’ll elaborate on market competitiveness in the Estonian job market, which we briefly mentioned in the Job Overview part.
The ease of finding a job remained at the same level for most industries in May. So, what about now?
Finding a job has become more challenging in Estonia since May, except for in the Finance industry. 🕵
If you’re a finance expert, the chances are you will have more opportunities compared to professionals working in other sectors. 🍀
While there is a slight increase in the market competitiveness of the Sales and Business Development and Software Engineering industries, things seem to have become more challenging for Marketing & PR & Media professionals.
(Tech) Project Management also saw a sharp drop in the number of opportunities. Hopefully, next month will make it easier for job seekers in all industries to find their dream job. 🙏

Looking at the situation, the world still needs some time to get back on track, but there are also some signs of recovery. 🙏
So, what about the global job market? What has summer brought for companies and job seekers? Which new members have joined the MeetFrank family and are now offering attractive relocation packages? 🌍
You’ll find the answers in this report! Let’s discover what’s new in June and July in the global job market. 🕵
Job Market Overview: June vs July
Even though summer mode is upon us, job seekers don’t seem to have stopped sending out applications, globally speaking. 👍
The upward trend we mentioned in our previous report is set to continue. 📈 There has been a small increase in the number of job applications since June.
So, what about market competitiveness in general?
Finding a job is still a challenge for job seekers. Given the coronavirus situation worldwide, it will take some time before more opportunities become available. 😷
Even though the global market is challenging, there’s always a need for good talent. 💪
In the coming sections, we will be giving more detailed information about the competitiveness industry-by-industry.
Salaries in Top 6 Specialties
In this section, we will compare the average gross salaries and expected salaries in June compared to May.
Ready? 🤩
👉 When looking at the chart, we can see that the only two industries offering lower salaries in June than in May were Finance and (Tech) Project Management.
👉While the fall in the Finance sector was rather visible with an average gross salary decrease of 519EUR, the IT & Sysadmin industry increased their average offerings by 731EUR since May. Good news for IT & Sysadmin professionals! 👯
So, what about the expected salaries so far?
Compared to the average gross salaries, there were more changes to the expected salaries in June.
👉While the average expectations of the Software Engineering professionals dropped by 51EUR, the Sales and Business Development industry saw a small average increase.
👉The expected salaries in Finance and IT & Sysadmin also decreased.
👉 The industries with higher expectations have been Marketing & PR & Media and (Tech) Project Management .
Overall, there was a disparity between the expected and the offered salaries by the first week of July. 🤔
In general, job seekers are demanding less than they are offered, except in the Finance and (Tech) Project Management sectors. 💰
Competition in Top 6 Specialties
In this section, we will see how the market competition has been in the last two months and how it has varied per industry in the global job market. 🌍
The recovery process has been taking some time globally which also affects market competition. 🕵
When looking at the chart, we can see that it’s become more challenging to find a job in all of the top 6 industries. 👀
While the difference in June’s stats compared to those of May seem more obvious for the Sales and Business Development, Marketing, PR, Media, and Tech (Project) Management industries, there has been a smaller disparity in the Software Engineering industry.
Nowadays, job seekers in the IT & Sysadmin industry will still find it relatively easy to find a job, whereas Marketing & PR & Media experts will face some challenges. ⛈
The reasons for the increase in market competitiveness might be related to multiple factors. 💡
Firstly, some companies may find it more challenging than usual to provide job seekers with relocation packages. Most countries have started opening borders, but the effects of the coronavirus pandemic are not over yet. 😷
Job seekers are also in the same boat. Moving to another country may seem quite a bit more challenging for them in these uncertain times as well. 🗺 🧳️
Let’s hope for the better. Recovery will definitely take some time, but the good news is that it has started. We’ll wait and see what August’s stats will show. 📈

What does the rest of the list say about job seekers’ choices?
